The problem was the center pin on the top of the battery. The pin has been pushed in too far, assumably by tightening too much. The dab/dental tool and pulled it to one side then the other about 10 times in the hopes of pulling that connector pin up so it would make a connection to the atomizer base. It worked! Hope this helps someone.
